Research

  • Dr. Heo's current research centers on developing effective educational programs for adults over 50 in an era of extended human longevity. Her work explores the neurological mechanisms underlying cognitive function changes due to aging and applies these insights to curriculum design and teaching methodologies optimized for senior learners.

    A particular emphasis is digital literacy education for older adults. As digital technology increasingly mediates everyday life—from kiosk ordering and mobile banking to e-government services and digital communication—the digital divide among seniors presents a growing social challenge. Dr. Heo is dedicated to developing evidence-based digital literacy curricula that address this gap and promote social inclusion.
